Omokoroa Skatepath Opening

May 2016

The Omokoroa Skatepath was completed and opened to the public over the weekend. Mr Ross Patterson, WBPDC Mayor, officially opened the facility to hundreds of eager users and spectators. The 188m skate path designed by RICH landscapes has been hailed as an important community asset for Omokoroa by the town's community board chairman, Don Cameron.

Sustainability  was a key factor in the design process. The path features natural drainage elements to mitigate water runoff large lawn areas to allow natural seepage into the soil. Added flat slab construction will also help to reduce levels of concrete input, minimising C02 production in the construction process while potential garden areas in the playground will maximise education and play.

RICH Landscapes would like to thank everyone who supported the development or were involved in the process.

"The facility was elongated due to the characteristics of the site. The Skate Path was a great idea that allows for a 120m long flow line with a diverse range of obstacles."
