We dropped in over the weekend to check in on progress for the new Waterview Skatepark in West Auckland. Designed by Boffa Miskell? and being built by Timco Construction and Premium Skate Park Designs it looks like progress is being made with the earthworks and concrete formwork underway. Looking forward to giving this a jam when it's open! The Ruakaka Community are currently building there new skatepark, pump track and roller derby area along Peter Snell Road. RICH Landscapes provided help with the design of the skate park and pump track and its integration with the main roller derby slab. Contrax has been leading the construction. Check some of the recent construction photos below or the original design here . Want to walk around the skatepark in 3D or VR go here Omokoroa Skate path opening video is live! Hundreds of people turned up on the day and the locals were ripping! Filmed and edited by Aidan Rogers the video captures the essence of a great day. Thanks to those who made it out and to all those involved. The Omokoroa Skatepath was completed and opened to the public over the weekend. Mr Ross Patterson, WBPDC Mayor, officially opened the facility to hundreds of eager users and spectators. The 188m skate path designed by RICH landscapes has been hailed as an important community asset for Omokoroa by the town's community board chairman, Don Cameron. Sustainability was a key factor in the design process. The path features natural drainage elements to mitigate water runoff large lawn areas to allow natural seepage into the soil. Added flat slab construction will also help to reduce levels of concrete input, minimising C02 production in the construction process while potential garden areas in the playground will maximise education and play. RICH Landscapes would like to thank everyone who supported the development or were involved in the process. Check out the below completed photos or for the original design here. Popped over for the final site inspection at Omokoroa yesterday, looking forward to the opening this weekend the 5th of May! Check the photos below or the original design here |
